Abstract

Highlights: [•] Atomic structure models for RecA::RecX::ssDNA and RecX::ssDNA complexes are proposed. [•] RecX binds to RecA presynaptic filament in solution at the molar ratio close to 1:4. [•] RecX likely interacts with presynaptic complex DNA and intermonomer interface of RecA. [•] RecX protein can form sandwich-like filaments on ssDNA via Coulomb interactions.
