Abstract

The article presents a biography of Wang Shu, who became the first Chinese architect to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Wang has completed about fifty projects, including museums, academic campuses, public spaces, and a handful of residences. He is known for designing modern structures that embrace Chinese history and traditions and use recycled, local, and sustainable materials and employ local artisans. The article also offers information on his early life and landmarks in his career .
