Abstract
- The article presents an analysis of the poetic language used by the 20th-century American poet W. H. Auden, alluding to the work and style of the earlier Irish writer William Butler Yeats. Auden's poem "In Memory of W.B. Yeats" is particularly analyzed for its imitation of Yeats' style. Themes and elements of Auden's poem are then linked to Yeats' poem "The Circus Animals' Desertion."
