Abstract

Highlights: [•] Deficit irrigation increased root growth in cv. Mission (cantaloupe; reticulatus). [•] Deficit irrigation had no adverse impact on melon fruit quality. [•] Significant water savings were obtained with deficit irrigation in cvs. Mission and Da Vinci (tuscan; reticulatus). [•] Due to high yield reduction, deficit irrigation may not be applicable for cv. Super Nectar(honeydew;inodorus). [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
