Abstract
- Highlights: [•] Unsymmetrical dicationic imidazolium based ILs were synthesized. [•] Imidazolium, pyridinium, and triethyl ammonium cations were used. [•] Prepared ILs showed efficient catalytic activity in fructose dehydration. [•] 100% fructose conversion and 92.3% HMF yield was obtained.
