Abstract
- The article discusses the key parameters that should be subject to online monitoring to prevent excessive boiler corrosion or scaling that could jeopardize power plant operation and maintenance. Topics discussed include the effects of oxygen contamination of steam condensate and ways to control dissolved oxygen levels, sodium as the root cause of various types of corrosion in boilers, the role of silica in the build-up of hard and dense scale in boilers and tips for online monitoring.
