The article discusses demography and ethnic relations in Great Britain. An almost 100 percent increase in the number of persons claiming a mixed ethnic or racial background in the 2011 census compared to 2001's census is examined, particularly its large percentage of persons from the Caribbean region. Slower rates of assimilation among persons of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi descent are noted.
