Abstract

Highlights: [•] Neuroprotective role of Mucuna pruriens (Mp) was evaluated in Parkinson’s disease mouse model. [•] Tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity was increased in Mp treated mice. [•] Activation of astrocytes was restored by Mp treated mice. [•] The efficiency of Mp treatment against PD is equal or greater than estrogen. [•] Mp could potentially be used as an anti-Parkinson drug. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
