Free Checks Go Way of Free Lunch.

The article reports that growing numbers of banks in the U.S. no longer offer free checking accounts. Between 2013 and 2014 the percentage of U.S. financial institutions that have abandoned free checking has risen from 33% to 41%. Rising compliance costs for banks along with limits on credit-card fees they may charge have them searching for new sources of revenue.
