Abstract

Highlights: [•] β-actin was identified as a novel E2-interacting partner of classical swine fever virus (CSFV). [•] The E2-interacting domain of β-actin was mapped to amino acids (aa) 95–188. [•] Two β-actin-interacting regions were identified in E2 (aa 182–261 and aa 262–341). [•] Knockdown or disruption of β-actin decreases viral progeny yield and accumulation of viral RNA. [•] Filamentous polymeric β-actin is involved in the early stages of CSFV infection cycle. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
