Abstract

Presents the results of experiments on the effect of the use of consonant letter names on the acquisition of spelling by kindergartners and first-graders. Includes experiments on the occurrence of letter-name spellings of consonants in experimental spelling tasks; Extension of the range of stimulus; Matching of control stimulus for each letter-name that shared the vowel phoneme and one of the consonants.
