Abstract

Examines the relationship of growth hormone (GH), insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), testosterone and prorenin to kidney volume (KV) and microalbuminuria (MA) in subjects with similar diabetes duration. Strong association of urinary IGF-I with KV, a marker for glomerular hypertrophy; Role of GH and IGF-I to the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy.
