Abstract

The article discusses the issues surrounding the democratic elections held in Russia in December 1993. The country previously held similar elections in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1993, though the latest one was called the most democratic. Even with all the developments in the government, the elections did very little to change things. The elections became even less important when the outcome of the elections still stayed with the traditional political systems, partially because most of the people did not vote.
