Abstract
- The well- known mention of Levi-Strauss as Lacan's exclusive reference to the debate about the gift of love is questionable when considering the details surrounding the production of the famous statement "giving what one does not have". The exchange and its laws do not seem to be the only tool in Lacan's conceptual workshop. We aim at contrasting the mechanisms of debt to the exchange laws. We can see then the emergence of an unexpected genealogy that will allow us to get to know the conditions for invention of the objet petit a -a non- interchangeable object [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
