La implantación de sistemas integrados de gestión. Un reto a la empresa cubana.

The views of 34 specialists on the implementation of Integrated Management Systems (IMG) in Cuban enterprises are discussed in this article. Advantages, determining factors, forecast and barriers were the variables evaluated, whereas the specialists were divided into two groups, experts and users. Both the internal development and the external pressures on the organizations are said to be an incentive for the integration process, favored by the publishing of ISO 9000:2000 standards. However, this trend will not become a fact in our organization in the near future, since more barriers to the IMG are of a cultural nature, namely: poor leadership and managerial ability, lack of knowledge about quality issues, environmental protection and prevention of workplace-related risks, resistance to change, and poor motivation among the staff to undertake the new organizational challenges.
