Abstract
- The author discusses aspects of lung transplantation which has evolved as an alternative intervention and solution to donor organ shortage for children and young adult recipients. She explains that lobar lung transplantation allows the use of large organ donors and utilization of lungs with a localized single lobe pathology. The author reveals that the bronchial anastomosis in lobar transplantation is more difficult to suture and can result to varied complications.
