Abstract

The article explores the dismal state of teaching history in schools which prompted experts and teachers to propose ways to improve the status of history in the classroom. It discusses the need to narrow the gap between schools history and academic history and emphasizes the importance of primary sources in the work of a historian. Expanding vision and the sources of inspiration is proposed for improving history teaching.
