Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine the relationship between individual achievement motive and organisational innovativeness. This research is developed by using the Achievement Motive Theory. With this purpose, the data was collected from 839 employees working in different public organisations in Turkey. The factors which have been studied in the research are about achievement motive (independence, task related motivation, ambition, and self-confidence) and organisational innovativeness. According to the analysis results, the individual factors which positively affect the organisational innovativeness are ambition and self-confidence. The paper has tried to make clear the relationships between organisational innovativeness and personal characteristics. Theoretical and managerial implications of these empirical findings are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
