The structure and age of the Baikal granitoid massif: New evidence for early Baikalian events in the Baikal-Muya mobile belt.

The article focuses on the structure and age of the Baikal granitoid Massif and new evidence for early Baikalian events in the Baikal-Muya Mobile Belt which is a well-studied tectonotypes of the Late Proterozoic fold belts of Central Asia. Topics discussed include geological aspects of the development of this belt, isotopic–geochemical (Sm–Nd) investigations of granitoids from the Baikal massif, and gneissic granites ranging from low-alkaline varieties to leucogranites.
