Abstract

The article presents a descriptive-type study on the perceptions of nurses regarding spirituality and spiritual care. The study was conducted among 733 nurses working in three hospitals in western Turkey. Results showed that 96.9 percent of the subjects had no previous training on spirituality and spiritual healing. The average Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale score for nurses was found to be 62.43 plus or minus 7.54 points.
