Abstract

Highlights: [•] Copper NPs with average size of ∼7.5nm were synthesized. [•] Cu NPs quench the fluorophore of BSA by forming ground state complex in the solution. [•] Binding between Cu NPs and BSA occur spontaneously by involving hydrophobic forces. [•] α-Helicity of the BSA decreases due to the interaction with Cu NPs. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
