Abstract

An essay is presented on the passive-aggressive nature of executive power in America as of August 2013, focusing on the legal aspects of incidents in which the executive branch in the U.S. refuses to enforce the nation's laws regarding issues such as drugs, deportation, and the U.S. Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). State death penalty laws and executions are mentioned, as well as the U.S. Congress' passage of the National Maximum Speed Law in 1974. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is examined.
