Abstract
- Describes images of Neptune's moon Triton taken by Voyager 2 which revealed geyserlike eruptions of nitrogen gas and ice particles taking place in the southern polar regions. Analysis of photometric data of the area just north of Triton's equatorial region by researchers at Cornell University's department of astronomy gave evidence indicating past or present icy volcanic activity.
