Abstract

The article offers information on a study that compared the effect of genotype-guided dosing with that of standard dosing on anticoagulation control in patients starting warfarin therapy. The study conducted a multicenter, controlled trial involving patients with atrial fibrillation or venous thromboembolism. It found an association between pharmacogenetic-based dosing and higher percentage of time in the therapeutic international normalized ratio.
