Abstract

Highlights: [•] We evaluated bending load effect on the failure pressure of wall-thinned pipe elbows. [•] Burst tests were conducted on real-scale elbow specimens with local wall thinning. [•] The tests were performed under combined pressure and load-controlled bending. [•] Load-controlled bending reduced the failure pressure of wall-thinned elbows.
