Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's (USSC's) ruling in the 2013 case McBurney v. Young which deals with state freedom of information laws in America, the legal concept of comity, and the Privileges and Immunities (P&I) Clause which is contained in Article IV of the U.S. Constitution. According to the article, Rhode Island resident Mark McBurney submitted a Virginia Freedom of Information Act request seeking documents about his family and his application for child support.
