- Describes the legal complexities of the crime of treason in the realm of domestic laws in early modern England and how these issues are reflected in Shakespeare's `The Tempest,' the anonymous `Arden of Faversham,' and the printed transcripts of the trial of the Earl of Castlehaven. Wife or slave murdering man of house guilty of treason; Man equated to king in hierarchical order.
