- Shows that CD8alpha beta transfectants produce more interleukin-2 than CD8alpha transfectants in response to specific stimuli. Functional division of mature T cells by surface expression of either CD4 or CD8; Thymic selection; Demonstration of a significant difference in the responsiveness of CD8alpha beta versus CD8 alpha transfectants to specific T-cell antigen receptor (TCR)-mediated responses.
