Abstract

This article suggests ways on how the U.S. can resolve the ethnic conflict in the Balkan Region. It is essential to urge calm on citizens who prefer the involvement of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the U.S. in direct military action. The commitment is warranted either by the facts of the situation or by the U.S. national interest. The focus of the U.S. policy must address the European system so that it can withstand the impact of this kind of ethnic turbulence. The U.S. can drawn a lesson about the problem of European tribalism.
