Abstract

Claims that Mars may not always have been dry. `Reservoir of water once existed on surface of Mars,' says Everett Gibson of Johnson Space Center, Houston; Space probe images clearly show dry river beds and canyons; Planetary scientists believe most of Mars' ancient oceans now beneath planet's surface; SNC meteorites believed to come from Mars contain milligrams of water.
