Abstract
- The article discusses the certification memorandum (CM) being developed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to advise product developers to ensure the quality of standards nuts and bolts. Particular focus is given to the "2012 Safety Information Bulletin" from which the EASA partly based the CM. Details relating to the design review, which is to be performed by design approval holders to help reduce the risk of installing defective fasteners, are presented.
