Abstract

The article reports on scientists' efforts to transform carbon dioxide (CO2) into stone by injecting the gas into basaltic rock as of December 2013. It highlights the experiment being conducted by engineers in Wallula, Washington, which involved injecting 1,500 tons of CO2 over two years. The CarbFix project in Iceland which aims to achieve the same results is also discussed.
