- The article examines how investors Bruce A. Karsh of Oaktree Capital Management, Jonathan D. Sokoloff of Leonard Green and Partners, and Joshua J. Harris of Apollo Global Management made huge profits from investing during the 2008 financial crises. Details are provided on Leonard Green and Partnerships' acquisition of part of grocer Whole Foods, Apollo's acquisition of chemical company LyondellBassell's debt, and Oaktree's investment in corporate bonds.
