Abstract
- The article discusses a research study on the predictors of outcomes in exacerbations of mild to moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) not treated with antibiotics. The study assesses the clinical response in relation to Anthonisen criteria and point-of-care serum C-reactive protein (CRP) tests using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results reveal the association of increased risk of failure without antibiotics to increase in sputum purulence and CRP concentration.
