Abstract
- Many are still talking about the power breakfast and birthday party hosted by the Black Alumni of Pratt in honor of Bruce Gordon, president of the Retail Market Group at Verizon. The breakfast, which took place during this time of Black History Month celebrations, attracted many from the corporate, civic, artistic and other communities including: Tawana Tibbs, Bruce Gordon's wife, who is also an executive at Verizon. Governor George E. Pataki has announced that he is making available $60.7 million in tax-exempt bonds to the New York City Housing Development Corporation, providing funds to help construct 454 new housing units in Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx.
