Abstract: The article discusses how the author used a genre-based system of classification to organize her school library's collection of fiction books. The author describes the problems and limitations of the school library's previous computer-based classification and organization system including students' frustration when they could not immediately find books they needed. The steps taken by the author in reorganizing the library collections are discussed including the creation of new categories.
