- Highlights: [•] Noradrenaline causes a reduction in gamma frequency oscillations in the hippocampus in vitro. [•] Noradrenaline causes a reduction in IPSPs and EPSPs during gamma frequency activity. [•] Activation of alpha-adrenergic 1 receptors reduces gamma frequency activity. [•] Activation of beta-adrenergic 1 receptors increases gamma frequency activity.
