Abstract
- The article discusses the no-advantage policy of the Australia for Refugees landing from sea and examines the provision of merits review and access to judicial review of decisions and appeals in the Australian law. It reviews the changed refugee laws in the Australia and policies governing refugee status determinations in and after 2001 while discussing the effect of removing complex legal procedures for grant of refugee status. It analyses the role of Refugee Review Tribunal in such cases.
