The author reflects on the study focused on drug hypersensitivity by J. Yun and colleagues. The author mentions on the use of allopurinol and its pathomechanism for drug hypersensitivity particularly in inducing severe cutaneous adver se reactions (SCARs) including epidermal necrolysis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome. He also cites the importance of high drug concentration in the induction of T-cell lines and to influence the functional avidity of cytotoxic T cells.
