Stevens-Johnson syndrome is considered one of the most severe reactions to medications, and carbamazepine is associated with greater frequency. This is related with HLA-B*1502 allele in Asiatic populations. Pharmacogenomics is dedicated, among other things, to the analysis of the genetic profile of the patient to determine his susceptibility to adverse drug effects.
