- Highlights: [•] The fatigue life of aluminum wire in silicone gel under random vibration testing is estimated. [•] A random vibration simulation of an aluminum wire with silicone gel is conducted. [•] The viscoelasticity of silicone gel filters the strain response at high frequencies. [•] Effect of design parameters of wire and gel on the wire strain is estimated.
