Abstract

Introduction. For many laboratories currently transradial catheterization is the main access for diagnostic coronary angiograms and in patients undergoing coronary intervention, but the femoral approach is still the most used. Material and methods. They conducted an observational, longitudinal, prospective and descriptive in patients undergoing coronary angioplasty Hemodynamics Service Hospital La Raza November 2009 to October 2011. Results. Radial 262 angioplasties were performed outpatient, where illnesses were diabetes mellitus 60%, hypertension 50%, 30% had dyslipidemia, and 60% were smokers. Conclusions. Radial Angioplasty outpatient allows early ambulation of patients providing comfort, it also reduces the length of hospitalization. This program provides the necessary attention to the beneficiaries without increasing costs to the Institute. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
