The Relationship between Friendly Behavior and Body Image with Life Satisfaction in Women.

Abstract

Background and purpose: Friendly behavior (as a one of the main characteristics of positive affect), and positive and negative feelings about body image can influence life satisfaction among women. This research aimed at determining the relationship between friendly behavior and body image with life satisfaction in women. Materials and methods: The research sample consisted of 200 women, aged between 20 to 25 years who were selected through random cluster sampling method in Shahrood, Iran. Friendly behavior scale, body image questionnaire and satisfaction with life scale were used. The data was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyses. Results: Results showed positive correlation between friendly behavior (r=0.30) and body image (r=0.66) with life satisfaction in women (P<0.001). Conclusion: This study showed that friendly behavior and body image highly influence (62%) life satisfaction among women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
