Plasma Facing Components: Challenges For Nuclear Materials.

A conference paper about plasma facing components (PFC) in fusion devices is presented. It discusses the importance of nuclear safety requirements, the use of the low-Z carbon based PFC, the use of tungsten as an high-Z material, and the fusion technology developed at International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). The high neutron fluence expected in a fusion reactor is considered.
