Abstract

Highlights: [•] ET of two short-rotation poplar coppices (SRCs) and two grass covers were compared. [•] The Bowen ratio/energy balance technique was applied for both types of vegetation. [•] Hourly, daily, and monthly ET was sometimes greater for SRCs. [•] ET over an entire annual cycle was always greater for grass vegetation. [•] SRC can replace grassland without a serious impact on the landscape ET. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
