Abstract

The article presents a study that describes the incidence and risk factors of Legionella pneumophilia pneumonia associated with tumor necrosis factor (TNF) - α antagonist therapy. The results of the study reveal that the incidence rate of legionellosis for such patients is high and the risk is increased for patients under anti-TNF-α monoclonal antibodies. The authors recommend specific urine antigen detection and antibiotic coverage for legionellosis.
