Abstract
- The author discusses country musician Garth Brooks' alter ego Chris Gaines, who released the album "Chris Gaines: Greatest Hits" or "Garth Brooks in...The Life of Chris Gaines" in 1999. Critical and popular reception of the album, marketing of the record by label Capitol Records, and the proposed biographical film "The Lamb" are discussed, as well as Brooks' influences and songs such as "Friends in Low Places" and "Right Now."
