Abstract
- The author discusses the process of removing the excess phenol chemical from the treated area using alcohol. He reflects on the vitro studies of Becerro de Bengoa Vellejo and colleagues on the process neutralization of phenol or alcohol irrigation. He is critical on the solubility of phenol in several substances including benzene, glycerol and methyl and ethyl alcohol. He adds that the studies have show the effectiveness of wound irrigation with saline solution rather than alcohol alone.
