Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit case of Friends of Blackwater v. Salazar, wherein it was alleged that delisting of flying squirrel from the endangered species list is a violation to the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The claims raised in this regard highlighted the issues that the squirrel should not be delisted unless its recovery plans are met and that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service should use persistent data rather than population data.
