Abstract

The author responds to the article "Activation Workers' Perceptions of Their Long-term Unemployed Clients' Attitudes Towards Employment" by Andrew Dunn. She recognizes the role of activation workers in the reform of contemporary welfare systems in OECD countries. Also discussed are the harmful effects of unemployment, including physical impacts and psychological damage.
